People Ops Capacity Partner

Get the People project off your plate without adding another full-time hire.

Your People team already knows what needs to happen.

The problem is capacity.

Onboarding needs an overhaul. Open enrollment is approaching. A performance cycle that needs to launch. There’s an HRIS that needs to be cleaned up. A new program has been designed but no one has the bandwidth to actually operationalize it.

Meanwhile, your existing team is still responsible for everything else.

People Ops Capacity Partner gives you experienced, temporary handoff of a high-priority People initiative, from planning through execution. You set the direction. I take responsibility for getting it done.

What We’ll Do

1. Define the workstream

We’ll start by getting clear on the initiative, the outcome you need, and what successful completion looks like.

Together, we’ll define:

  • Scope and deliverables

  • Timeline and milestones

  • Key stakeholders

  • Decisions and dependencies

  • What I own

  • What stays with your internal team

Then I step in as the dedicated owner of the workstream. (Examples below)

2. Move the project forward

I handle the operational execution required to get the initiative across the finish line.

Depending on the project, that can include:

  • Building and managing the project plan

  • Coordinating with Finance, Legal, IT, managers, or other stakeholders

  • Managing vendors

  • Drafting employee and manager communications

  • Building workflows and documentation

  • Tracking decisions, dependencies, and follow-ups

  • Identifying issues before they become blockers

  • Making process recommendations

  • Providing clear progress updates to the People leader

You remain the strategic sponsor. You don't have to become the project's full-time project manager.

3. Leave it better than I found it

The goal isn't just to survive the project.

Before ownership returns to your team, I'll make sure the work can continue without me.

Depending on the engagement, that may include:

  • Final workflows and SOPs

  • Templates and communications

  • Clear ownership and handoffs

  • Automation opportunities

  • Maintenance requirements

  • Open risks and decisions

  • Recommendations for the next iteration

You get the immediate capacity you need and stronger People operations after the engagement ends.

Projects I Can Own

People Ops Capacity Partner is designed for one defined, high-priority initiative at a time.

Examples include:

Performance cycles
Planning and operational execution, manager communications, tracking, documentation, and closeout.

HRIS implementation or optimization
Workflow configuration, data cleanup, process design, documentation, testing, and stakeholder coordination.

Onboarding redesign
Rebuilding the operational experience from offer acceptance through a new hire's first weeks.

Open enrollment
Timeline management, vendor coordination, employee communications, operational execution, and follow-up.

Manager enablement rollout
Operationalizing new manager expectations, resources, communications, training logistics, and ongoing support.

Employee lifecycle improvements
Improving the workflows behind employee changes, promotions, transfers, leaves, offboarding, or other lifecycle moments.

People documentation
Turning scattered institutional knowledge into usable SOPs, templates, workflows, and operating guides.

People tool implementation
Taking a new People platform from selection or contract through configuration, rollout, documentation, and adoption.

Employee data cleanup
Resolving data integrity issues and establishing cleaner processes for maintaining accurate employee records.

New People program operationalization
Taking a program that has been strategically designed and building the workflows, communications, tools, ownership, and operating rhythm required to actually run it.

This Is a Good Fit If...

You have a lean People team and:

  • An important initiative keeps getting pushed because everyone is at capacity

  • You need someone who can operate independently rather than wait for a task list

  • The work is substantial enough to require dedicated ownership, but not a permanent hire

  • Your People leader needs to stay focused on higher-level priorities

  • You want the project completed in a way your team can actually maintain afterward

This isn't general fractional HR support or an extra pair of hands for miscellaneous tasks.

It's dedicated ownership of a defined People Ops problem that needs to get solved.

How the Engagement Works

We start with a scoping conversation to determine the initiative, desired outcome, timeline, stakeholders, and level of support required.

From there, I'll propose a defined engagement with clear ownership and boundaries.

Most Capacity Partner engagements run for a defined project period or monthly engagement, depending on the initiative.

Investment

$3,000–$7,000 determined by project

Final pricing depends on project complexity, timeline, stakeholder involvement, and the level of execution required.

Larger or more complex initiatives are scoped separately.
